Door County Private Sewage System Ordinance requires pumping AND/OR inspection of private septic systems every 3 years. This helps to protect the quality of the water being recycled into the water table - you're drinking water.

Every 3rd year, the Door County Sanitarian department sends this form in April to the current property owner of land where a septic system is recorded to have been installed. The cycle is usually based on date of installation or previous inspection rather than purchase date of property.

Only a licensed plumber or waste hauler is authorized to sign the form verifying inspection and / or pumping was completed. Only a licensed septage hauler is authorized to pump any septic system.

The form must be returned to the Door County Sanitarian's Dept by Oct 31 of the inspection year.
